All in all, this book sucks. Anyhow, I’m not impressed by the way de Sade insinuates that if you’re not a virtuous believer, you have no morale. After escaping the band of Dubois, Justine wanders off and saxe trespasses upon the lands of the count of Bressac.
Claudine Carmen de Lirio Sep 18, Darius Whiteplume rated it it was amazing. All in all, I think Justine was pretty much a collection of de Sade’s own fantasies disguised with a few bits of philosophical debate. Proper review to follow when time permits.
Justine maraues the quintessential sad sac of the ages. There is standard edition of this text in hardcover, having passed into the public domain. Lesbian nuns and dildos and cunt sucking and ass licking and spraying orgasmic juices all described just like that.
Justine by Marquis de Sade
Not quite as good as “Philosophy in the Bedroom,” but great juxtina to read. Sade the philosopher is in force, and his treatises – like his other novels delivered by key characters – are interspersed with the sex and violence one expects.

Juliette by Marquis de Sade
Those are the kind of people I have to live with, just so you know. She is presented with sexual lessons, hidden under a virtuous mask. One can’t help but appreciate the author’s writing or his views on authority which at the time happened to be the Catholic Church, not God! The edition I am currently reading online was published in and is an abridged edition. It took me months to read it, mostly because I couldn’t understand any of I’m not sure what I was expecting jhstina this book. It was only when I realized that de Sade’s creation was starting to break the fourth wall in the last two pages that I felt panic set in, compelling me to quickly finish and slam the book shut lest it cause a dimensional rift to open and let the insanity spill forth into our world.
She can be swayed by her emotion, and while evil, is not the most libertine of libertines. Justine, or The Misfortunes of the Virtue or simply Justinewas the first marquws de Sade’s books published.
After doing a little research I chose Justine, a classic, and one of his more famous stories to give a try at but it was a failure. Believe in God and a bunch of people are going to rape you, take advantage of you, tie you to a tree and let the dogs get you, while your sister becomes a whore and marries a rich guy and gets all the wonders in the world, while everyone who’s fucked you over got rich and became successful.
Those free of social bondages and of a libertine and criminal bent he admires. Just add philosophical musings to the sexcapades and basically you have porn for intellectuals! Marquis de Sade’s Justine 5. Justine is taken to prison re she meets Madame Dubois, a virago sentenced for execution the next day. Dec 09, Mary rated it did not like it Shelves: It’s a well-written and imaginative masterpiece of cold, brutal philosophy; it’s a cornucopia of jaw-dropping, though ultimately numbing, horror; it’s an encyclopedia of repetitive, boring sexual escapades different sex, same sex, group sex, incest, beastiality, necrophilia, bum-stuffing, mard-munching, golden showers: But what a painful moment, that the discovery of a book in which he is not a free and benevolent character!
