Her paranormal as Lindsey Piper and historical romances from Pocket have been described as “nuanced and superbly realized” The Chicago Tribune and “sexy, brutal and somehow innocent” All About Romance. I really liked this one. And Robin Hood, once he does lodty in the story, is the perfect compliment to Will as a brother-in-arms, rather than as a cardboard prop, wanst as a rival for Will’s place as the hero of this story. Phil to step in and tell Meg to stop putting her life in danger for this woman who was manipulating and using her.

Maybe I was supposed to be intrigued by her behaviour and be impressed when it was slowly revealed that she had loads of baggage involving her sister, but I transferred the premise to real life and found it lacking. Love ’em or hate ’em, I know who they are as people.

REVIEW: What a Scoundrel Wants by Carrie Lofty

Unfortunately for Will, he is set up to be the patsy in one of the sheriff’s nefarious plots, and in the process of extricating himself from a very sticky and life-threatening situation, he comes to whzt aid of a lady in distress another potential patsythe heroine, Meg of Keyworth. But normally it is the guy making the advances.

The characters were very likable and they were well developed throughout th I’m czrrie this book 3. She didn’t try to make that romantic. I haven’t read a romance in a long time, and I enjoyed the setting and, well, the sex. I understand the urge to not info-drop, but hell’s bells, lady.

Meg needed a warm male body to quench her desires and Will had no other choice but to go along with it. I have loved Robin Hood books from a variety of authors ranging from Parke Godwin to Marsha Canham, and I am so happy to see a book that sits well alongside them. Will Scarlet is scooundrel hero of this tale, and rest assured, flawed though he may well be, Lofty’s Will is very much a hero.

But, in wantw interest of narrative pacing, Cartie can see where Lofty would have left scoundrsl Very good debut novel from Carrie Lofty. They are willing to defend each other to the last, and love each other deeply. Will saves Meg and brings her safely away.

She has adapted admirably, but it has made her a bit hard. I’ll get my Merry Men jollies elsewhere. To please her in every way is what he wants most. Meg practices and experiments as an alchemist, like her father before her.

Meg is a little hard to love, but I enjoyed her journey learning to trust Will.

To please her in every way is what he wants most, for Will knows he will cherish her forever…. And when horny Meg decides to literally mount Will, while he is under a fever induced sleep because he was hurt saving Meg, I was disgusted. Apr 06, Sara rated lodty it was ok.

This is essentially a forced seduction scene and there was not emotional attachment between the two. From the moment that he encounters her however, he never actually does take the easy road and act in his own self-interest.

I think Will Scarlet would have turned over in his grave, if he’d had one. This was a really great medieval historical romance. And the setting, the forests, are very vivid.

REVIEW: What a Scoundrel Wants by Carrie Lofty | The Good, The Bad and The Unread

I have been on the fence as to what grade to give What a Scoundrel Wants. So he’s all wounded and feverous. More than I bargained for Although the title has absolutely nothing to do with the story, I thoroughly enjoyed this ,ofty. And if she wants something she goes after it. It was sick and wrong and in NO way was it sexy!

I really dug this book. But he’s on the right track and he does get there eventually, once he’s able to face Robin again and they can finally resolve past differences and misunderstandings. He stole every scene he was in.

My main peeve with What a Scoundrel Wants was the character of Meg. Particularly Meg, who is vulnerable due to her lack of sight, and shunned for her differences. Jan 24, Karla rated it did not like it Farrie
